*Says They Plan To Make All Stadiums Appropriate For All, But Funds Is Always A Big Problem
Minister of Youth and Sports development, Sunday Dare has lamented about the lack of home advantage for the Super Eagles when they play host to any team in Nigeria.
The Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports Development during an inspection visit today at the National Stadium in Surulere on the ongoing renovation of the main bowl promised that before next year, Stadiums will be well developed and furnished, so as to enable the Super Eagles to have a permanent home ground while executing their games, saying that playing in different stadiums is no advantage to Gernot Rohr’s side.
According to him, he said “Our Super Eagles of Nigeria don’t have a home ground advantage and that is a massive disadvantage. We play in Asaba today, play in Benin tomorrow, play in Kaduna next week, it never works that way, you must have a home advantage. I can assure you that by God’s Grace, from next year, we will have a Home and our National team will play in our National Stadium, either in Surulere or in Abuja, as the case may be. Kaduna is also being refurbished”, he said.
