The 3-Day Soccer Scouting Event is aimed at youth empowerment in the country. It is developed to enhance the youths for better future, scout for great and potential talents, who are within the age brackets, place them in their different academies, as well as sending these players abroad during the transfer windows, as this will also help the NFF in getting great players to represent the National team.
During the event, rumours have been flying around that players are being asked to pay some certain amount of money before being allowed to participate in the event and Prince Matthew has come out to dismiss such claims.
In a Chat with Sports247, the Football agent, when being asked about his viewpoint on the rumours, he said that it was all rumours and that the event was ‘Free of Charge’ for all, everyone (within the age brackets) is free to participate without having to pay anybody.
“The event is free. We are trying to help the youth, we are trying to create a platform for the youth. God has blessed us, so this is our way to do our part. Absolutely, it is free of charge, not just the trials, also just the process of choosing players, the players going to abroad, seeing the players get to the country is all Free of Charge”.
When being asked about if he was satisfied with the number of talents and players who turned up for the event, the Football agent said he was okay with the numbers and displays of the players, as well as rating them 8/10, even though he wasn’t satisfied with the striking positions.
“Of course I am satisfied. It’s 8/10, we are okay with some numbers, but not really satisfied with the Striking positions, as you can see, there are few goals in all the games played so far”.
The 3-Day Scouting event is set to Continue in Kano, after its activities in Lagos.
