The league is being organized and coordinated by Alimosho Football Coaches Council. Chairman Technical Committee, Lanre Ojo said the league is the first of its kind and it would help the young players to be exposed to home and away format.
He said many football academies have shown interest in the league noting that the registration for the league would close this afternoon.
“Our purpose of organizing this league is to give the young lads an opportunity to come to the limelight and secondly we want them to know the importance of home and away matches. If we can engage them in this type of league, it would help their football career,” he said.
Ojo popularly known as Wenger said his committee has inspected all match venues for the league and they were impressed with the facilities put in place by the participating teams.
He disclosed that the security and safety of these young players are very important to the organizers and they are ready to sanction any academy that fails to meet the requirements being given to them when they would go for the last inspection.
He said part of what they would discuss on Thursday apart from draws is how the players would be played in a conducive environment.
“Aside from the draws that would hold on Thursday, we would discuss some issues that would benefit the participating teams and fix a date for the league. It is going to be a league that would attract fans because this league is only meant to be U-15 category,” he said.
Among the teams that would participate are Samjason Academy, Divine Stars, Sammy Academy, Ola’s Stars Academy and Amaze Academy
