After picking an away win in a far way Uyo against Ibom Angels on matchday 1, Osun babes interim coach, Olayinka Adunola says her team has the ability to get another away victory.
Having only survived relegation via a relegation play-off last season, Omoluabi Queens starts to the season seems like a surprise to many.
Speaking to the NWFL media in a pre-match interview ahead of the Wednesday clash against rivals FC Robo, the energetic coach says her team has the ability to win again.
“I expect a great environment in Lagos and hopefully, my players will come up to play to that level. I have no doubt in my player’s abilities and am positive ahead of the derby.”
Giving her thoughts on her next opponent whom she defeated in a pre-season friendly match at the Osogbo Township Stadium by a lone goal, Adunola said the team is a good side that takes their chances well.
“The game between FC Robo and Osun Babes is always a difficult one. They have good players and play quick attacking football, compressing from the back. We are confident ahead of the game but we are aware that we are playing against a very strong side, who usually take their chances.”
Last season, FC Robo broke the heart of the Osun babes fans with a last-minute winner which saw the team drown in the relegation battle.
Both teams go into the tie unbeaten with FC Robo also stealing a win away at Lafia against Nasarawa Amazon.
Despite the ongoing battle for their salaries to be paid, Osun Babes travel to Lagos to face the Lagos Landladies on Wednesday.
