Chairman FC Robo Queens of Lagos, Emmanuel Osahon has revealed the reason while his girls shocked two-time national challenge Cup title holders, Nasarawa Amazon in week one of Nigeria Women Football League which kicked off across seven centers.
Against all odds, the Lagos-based premier club was a delight to watch at Lafia City Stadium when Esther Sobowale’s goal in the 32nd minutes silence the home fans to end the pulsating encounter 1-0 in favor of FC Robo Queens.
Osahon while chatting with our correspondent described the match as a keenly contested game but quick to say that his girls took their chance to get a better result against their opponents.
“Honestly it was a tough game and both teams played to fans’ expectations. What gave us victory today (Wednesday) was that we took our chances we created in the first half which gave us victory,” he said.
Aside from that, he said his girls were more determined and prepared mentally, physically, and psychologically for the game despite the challenges on the road on their way to Lafia.
Commenting on the champions League slot if he is focusing on, being reported on social media, Osahon said it is too early for him to target the Champions League slot noted that he wants to focus on the league match one after the other.
“I read it on social media that I am focusing on champions league slot, I did not say that, what I am focusing on now is how I will win my next game and subsequent matches. The league has just started so I am focusing more on our next match against Osun Babes comes Wednesday in Lagos,” he said.
