Nigeria’s female youth national team, Falconets’ coach, Christopher Dajnuma has charged the senior squad, Super Falcons to be at their best in their Africa Women Cup of Nations semi-final against Cameroon because every other squad wants to beat the champions.
Danjuma noted in an interview with sports247.ng that the Falcons still remain the team to beat, despite their opening group 1-0 loss to South Africa.
However, even after their convincing victories against Zambia (4-0) and Equatorial Guinea (6-0), Danjuma says Thomas Dennerby’s side have to be careful on Tuesday.
Danjuma stated: “Every team that participates in the AWCON wants to beat Nigeria, because they also want to become champions.
“Every team at the championship equates their standard of play with what they can do against Nigeria and by trying to beat the Super Falcons.
“Nigeria is a force to reckon with. Their shaky start against South Africa does not mean that they cannot retain the title they won last two years ago in Cameroon.”
