Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons rising star, Josephine Chukwunonye is still relishing their 4-0 trouncing of Zambia at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, and says the result shows that the champions are back in business.
Chukwunonye stated in a chat with sports247.ng that all the players were sad to lose their opening match 1-0 against South Africa, but enthused that Wednesday’s result shows that they have put the past behind them.
The former youth international added that they are now looking forward to another resounding victory against Equatorial Guinea on Saturday, and pick a ticket into the semi-finals.
Chukwunonye said: “We are happy that we won our second match at the competition, which means we are back and better.
“We all learnt valuable lessons from the opening day defeat to South Africa. We talked to ourselves that we have to get back to our best.”
