The president of the Nigeria Football Referees Association and Vice Chairman, Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Tade Azeez has been appointed a patron of a Lagos-based grassroots football club, Danjuma Babes F.C.
The football administrator expressed gratitude for the gesture. He stated he was proud to be honored as a grand patron while he promised to inspire the club to an enviable height.
“It’s obvious football has united the world and the only way we can help grassroots football grow in Nigeria is by balancing it with education. A lot of Nigerian soccer stars have ventured into a deal they know nothing about.
“Some are being cheated all because they lack education which their grassroots club ought to have offered.
“As the grand patron of this team, I promise to always come to check on the boys because they are the future of tomorrow. I will make sure they balance education with football and with that, I believe the club will grow bigger,” he stated.
