The Chairman of Surulere Regional League Alhaji Salau Abiodun excites over the resumption and announcement by the Presidential Taskforce on Covid19 and The Ministry of youth and sport lifting the ban on Contact sports with football inclusive.
The announcement which was made yesterday by the presidential task force at the Covid19 Media briefing stating
“The lifting of restrictions on outdoor activities including football is in line with earlier consultations with Ministry of youth and sport and NCDC, However, this is limited to the actual sports itself and not mass gathering”
Alh Salau Abiodun believes this is a sign of relief for all stakeholders in the Surulere Regional League and its a first step towards our football coming back but without mass gathering(Fans)
Recall that Football has been restricted since March 2020. The Surulere Regional League is supposed to commence on 16th March 2020 but has been on hold due to the Lockdown and restrictions on contact sports.
Alh Salau Said ” We are glad that the Presidential Taskforce on Covid19 heard the yearnings of all football stakeholders through the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. Its a sign of relief for all Football Stakeholders in Surulere Regional League and Nigeria”
” The lifting of the ban will enable the Surulere League Management to double its preparation towards the resumption of the Surulere Regional league 2020/2021″
Recall that the Surulere Regional League is scheduled to hold on 16th March 2020 but was postponed indefinitely due to the Total lockdown in Nigeria due to the Pandemic.
