Nigerian duo of Samuel Kalu and Josh Maja were in action as Bordeaux played a goalless draw with Olympic Lyon in a French Ligue match day 2 tie.
Coming from a 2 nil win over Angers, Bordeaux were looking to break the spine of Lyon who were flying high into the season.
Kalu, who was previously reported to be joining Turkish side Fenerbache, was included from the start ranking up an hour of game time before being replaced by Yancine Adli.
Josh Maja came on with 16 minutes left on the clock but his efforts were enough to earn his team a much deserved one point.
Both Nigerians will be looking to solidify their place in the Bordeaux squad as the team try to build on a good start to the season that has seen them gather 5 points form 3 games.
With such performances, both players will stand a chance in Gernot Rohr’s team next month as the Super Eagles will be involved in friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Tunisia.
