Yesterday at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi, Benue state capital, officials, and players of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi had their samples taken for COVID 19 test.
In a chat with the media, the club’s vice-chairman Mike Idoko said that this is in line with the NCDC and LMC protocols in preparation for the resumption of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2020/2021 season. By this, Lobi Stars Fc became the first club in the elite football league to comply with the directives.
Mr. Idoko stated that all players and officials including the board and management staff of the club will undergo COVID 19 test which according to him is compulsory.
Mike Idoko commended the staff of the isolation center at Benue State University Teaching Hospital for attending to the players despite the ongoing doctors’ strike.
He further said that the club has put behind the disappointment of last season, which Lobi Stars were denied a continental ticket in controversial circumstances and are ready to challenge for all trophies this season.
