There were 3 Nigerians, all former international athletes, whose exceptional athletic talents were discovered whilst in school in the 1970s. They were invited to the national camps and became very successful national and international athletes. Supported and funded by the federal government they acquired the best education, and trained abroad in the best sports institutions to become coaches, managers and administrators in the 1980s.
They were strategically prepared and positioned to succeed their generation of sports administrators and to sustain the development blueprint of the original visionaries of Nigeria’s sports masterplan that were expected to retire in the 1990s.
Thankfully, all 3 of athletes are alive and kicking. Who are they? One of them will be reliving his incredible experiences and journey, and tell Nigerians what truncated that magnificent, well planned journey.
Tonight on The Sports Parliament, with a full compliment of all your favourite Parliamentarians asking the questions, Nigerians will have the rare opportunity to glean the best traditions of proper sports development of the past through the true-life experiences of Seigha Porbeni.
It is from 10:30pm, LIVE on NTA, Africa’s largest TV network.
Join all your favourite Parliamentarians on the show tonight to pry open the belly of Nigerian Sports, once again.
