Athlete representative in the board of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Emmanuel Jato has declared that the recent premier league in Abuja was very rewarding for the game, the players and nation.
Making his views known in an interview with sports247.ng on Friday, Jato said the league was a good start for the NVBF, towards making the sport get more popularity in the country.
Jato also confessed that he was amazed at the large turnout of Abuja residents and volleyball fans to watch the league’s final on Saturday.
The former national team captain added that volleyball will grow to a higher level in Nigeria by the time the league gets a title sponsor.
Jato stated: ‘I am happy with what we saw during the Volleyball Premier League in Abuja.
“The standard was high and the turn out of fans for the final was huge. I believe it will be even bigger once we get a sponsor.”
