Tijani Samson the former U-17 Nigeria National team captain has just been unveiled at FC Red Bull Salzburg today. Tijani who joined the team a month before his birthday was signed to the Austrian league side upon reaching 18 years on 17 May, 2020.
Last December, media in Nigeria described the transfer for Samson Okikiola Tijani to Salzburg as fixed and sealed. Now Salzburg has officially unveiled the 18-year-old.
Tijani who signed from Collins Edwin Sports Club to Salzburg and signs a long-term contract until May 2025, the bulls announced.
It will be the 18-year-old’s first professional contract, which was also reported in December.
The Nigerian is mainly used in defensive midfield. Despite his young age, the Salzburg team at least so far have not indicated that it should only be used at FC Liefering.
Sports247 gathered exclusively from Tijani’s agent Mr. Ojo Paul Omamomo that like other players he has worked with Samson Tijani is an exceptional player who’s going to explore more opportunities in the future.
Agent Ojo Paul Omamomo told Sports247 that Tijani has been a good and down to earth player since the first day they crossed path. “I believe it’s Gods way of blessing him, we are all very excited about it.”
