Abia Warriors have reached an agreement with former Assistant coach of the Nigerian super eagles, Coach Imama Amapakabo as new head coach ahead of the new season.
Currently placed 16th on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) log under the interim leadership of Udube Willy, the Umuahia, Abia based club will be hoping to challenge for the title upon thier return next season.
Amapakabo, 50, was in charge of the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations squad in Egypt, which are also the qualifiers for the men’s football tournament at next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo and was also in charge of Nigeria’s team of locally-based players for the 2020 African Nations Championship qualifier in Togo.
Imama had previously managed Rivers United FC, Rangers International FC, and a brief stint with El-Kanemi Warriors where he signed a one year deal before his resignation.
