“I run a school and closing down my school for about 4 months now, is really biting hard on my survival around this period as a proprietor, but I know that, for sure, almost every family could be infected with COVID-19 within a month, if schools are re-opened now, except coronavirus is not real in Nigeria and no longer spreading as actively as we see the number rising right now on daily basis here in the country.
Or, how do you tell these innocent children to maintain social distancing or not play together in the school?
If the face mask is not convenient on me as an adult, how would it stay on the pupils or students for the 8 hours they are supposed to stay in school?!
It is a serious situation and we all must think deeply about it along with the government well enough, lest almost every family in Nigeria eventually becomes a victim of the coronavirus afflictions in few days to come, if the government must have to re-open the schools now.
Every child leaves a family to go school. If he eventually contracts COVID-19 infection in the school, he would definitely take it home to give it to his family.
How do you force these innocent children to wash their hands every minute in school? How do you force them to keep face masks on their faces permanently for 8 hours, when it is not even convenient for those of us who are adults? How do you force them not to run after themselves and play closely together in school? How do you stop them from sharing food and drinks from the same mouths, saliva, teeth, plate and bottle?! How do you stop them from coughing and sneezing in school as children?! How?!
The best place covid- 19 could easily spread to almost every family in Nigeria, is through the children from their schools, better than even the religious, event, market or other potentially susceptible places around town like that.
The honest question is: How do you tell innocent children to stay apart or aloof of one another in a school? How do you tell them not to relate closely with one another? How?!
