Former minister of sports, Bala Bawa Ka’oje has declared that the Super Eagles must beat South Africa at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg this Saturday, in order to correct the error of losing at home to the same team last year.
Ka’oje said in his preview of the match with sports247.ng that only a win in the reverse fixture would be good enough for Nigeria’s soccer image, as well as for qualifying early to the Africa Cup of Nations.
The former minister reiterated that the game with Bafana Bafana is a must win for Nigeria, because he is yet to recover from the 2-0 defeat the Eagles suffered in the hands of the South Africans in Uyo.
He, however, warned that, without adequate planning and strategy the idea of beating South Africa at their backyard would not be achieved.
Ka’oje concluded: “We need to win this match in Johannesburg. So, my charge to the team is that they should prepare well to put smiles once more in the faces of Nigerians come Saturday.”
