Omonia Nicosia winger Babajide David has expressed his readiness to challenge for a place in the Super Eagles under Manager Gernot Rhor.
Babajide who is on loan at the biggest club in Cyprus Omonia Nicosia from Danish giant Midtjyland, believes he has the qualities required to demand a shirt in the Super Eagles.
Speaking during a virtual interview session on one of Nigeria’s finest Whatsapp Group, Family United by Football (FUBF), the fast winger who modeled his game around Portugese star Christiano Ronaldo insists that he is good enough and has alot to offer the Franco-German tutored side.
” I really think I will fit in perfectly to the style of play of the Super Eagles under Gernot Rhor. He told FUBF.
“I am very fast and know how to use the ball very well. I am very confident and know I have alot to offer the team.
He continued: ” It would be an honour to wear the great white green and help my nation achieve alot through the round leather game. I am really looking forward to it. He concluded.
Babajide David is a product of Rehoboth FC of Oyo, before joining FC Ebedei where he got a deal with Danish Giant Midtjyland in 2013.
David was loaned out to Norwegian First Division-side FK Jerv on 11 March, 2017 for the rest of the season. On 16 February 2018, he was loaned out again, this time to FK Haugesund.
In February 2019, David was once again sent out on loan, this time to Rosenborg with the option to make the move permanent after the 2019 season.
In January 2020, David signed 6-month loan contract with Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus and played a key role in the team winning the Cypriot championship following the cancelation of the league due to Covid-19 pandemic.
