Ayinde talks up position in Super Falcons team

After being included in the Super Falcons team to the 11th Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana, Asarum midfielder Halimatu Ayinde has talked up her position in the team.

She noted that players in the team have different qualities they will bring to the team.

“I can play any role at the middle of the park. But this is not about me but the team as a whole.”

“The Super Falcons team to the Cup of Nations is filled with players with different attributes capable of helping the team. We are ready to give our best to ensure that we qualify for the World Cup and also win the competition in Ghana,” the former Delta Queens star told Sports247.ng.

Ayinde praised coach Thomas Dennerby and hailed his tactical acumen ahead of the competition in Ghana.

“He (Thomas Dennerby) is a sound coach with a lot to offer the Super Falcons. I belief he has the ability to be successful as the coach of the senior national side.”

The Falcons are currently at a training camp in Abidjan to perfect tactics and strategy for the defence of their continental title before arriving in Ghana for the 11th AWCON finals.

The eight-time African champions will play a couple of friendly games in the Sol Beni camp before flying to Ghana on 14th November, four days to their Group B opening encounter against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.

Nigeria will also tackle Zambia and Equatorial Guinea in their pool, as they bid for a ninth continental title out of 11 championships
