Ex Nigeria international and Akwa United Coach, Kenedy Boboye, has revealed his disgrunt over the unfortunate car accident that ruled him out of Atlanta 1996 Olympics despite playing in all qualifying matches.
The former Interim Assistant Coach of the Nigeria National team after the resignation of Sunday Oliseh revealed this on his official twitter handle accompanied with a picture of the ’96 Olympics team as the gaffer looks back on old good times.
The post read: “I played in all the qualifiers for ’96 Olympics except the last game cause of the car accident injuries. I didn’t recover on time to make the squad to Atlanta & that ruled me out of having an Olympic gold medal around my neck. That’s my biggest regret ever”. I thank God for life though. https://t.co/kizliKX3HK
It will be worthwile to recall that Boboye led Plateau United to win their first ever league title in 2018, before his resignation from his position as head coach after his two years contract expiration.
