Super Eagles chief coach, Gernot Rohr has confirmed that he has been offered an opportunity to extend his contract with the Nigeria team.
This offer is coming few months to the expiration of the current contract. Recently, there has been some pulling and pushing as regards the contract of the gaffer. there have also been so much discussions and deliberations on his new deal.
The Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick has highlighted what the new deal will look like. It entails Rohr staying in Nigeria so he could monitor our home grown talents. The deal also reflects the remuneration of the coach be done in naira among others.
while the coach has also been quoted as saying that he hope to continue coaching Nigeria despite new clauses being included in his contract but demanded for a free hand in carrying out his duty, sports247 reports.
The Franco-German coach confirmed the receipt of the new deal on Monday and said his representatives will look into it and determine next line of action.
“I have just received an extension proposal, my contract ends on June 30. We are discussing about my future, I will look into it , “said Rohr.
Rohr took over the team in 2016 and has succeeded in leading the team to the Russia 2018 World cup and the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt with a bronze medal as evidence. He said he would love to lead Nigeria to the next African Nations Cup and World Cup.
