NFSC lauds Soname on donation to athletes trust fund

The proposed Athletes Trust Fund, which is a new initiative of the Minister of Youths and Sports development, Sunday Dare has received a massive boost by Hon. Kunle Soname, who made a N10 million naira donation to kickstart it.

The trust fund which is ostensibly aimed at boosting the morale of Nigerian athletes by funding their training, as well as, help them participate in major championships is also expected to be supported by well-placed individuals and corporate organizations.

In a chat with journalists, the National Chairman of the NFSC, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, commended the gesture of the President of Remo Stars FC and boss of the foremost betting company, Bet9ja.

“On behalf of the national executives and members of NFSC home and diaspora, we say a big thank you to Hon. Kunle Soname for his unflinching commitments and supports for Nigerian sports.

” This initiative of our amiable sports minister is epochal. And we believe it would go a long way to helping our athletes achieve their career dreams. Therefore, we want to plead to well placed Nigerians and corporate bodies to key into this laudable project, for the benefits of our youths and the future of Nigerian sports,” he added.
