The Flying Antelopes forward unfazed with the pandemic ravaging the country has been training personally to keep fit.
Itoya explained, “In the mornings, I go out to do a little work out just to keep your fitness and shape. And then come back, have your meal and stay at home.”
“You can’t visit people and friends can’t visit you. ” It is boring though but it is what I ought to do because I have to maintain hygiene and keep isolated from people at the end, HEALTH IS WEALTH.
Itoya reiterated,”I do a quick one in the morning as early as 7AM to 9am and then sleep at home. You wake, watch films and before you know the day is gone and over.”
Itoya was quizzed on, if for instance the NPFL resumes today, would he be able to perform at the blistering form we know him to play for the Enugu based team?
He answered ,”The truth is that I will not at my peak but I will not be far from it. I keep fit to a level and when my coach brings his pattern technically to his team before the league starts, I will have a few days to adjust.
He emphasized that,” Footballers will not just pick up but in terms of 100% fitness, you can be at 70% to 80%, then with time the coach stabilises this team then you are 100% ready.
