The Swedish FA have handed former Manchester City footballer, Dickson Etuhu a 5-year ban from all footballing activities in the country. This is after Etuhu had been found guilty of match-fixing attempts back in 2017. That year, it was alleged that the former Super Eagles midfielder was involved in match-fixing scandals.
Dickson Etuhu stands guilty of attempting to fix the match between IFK Gothenburg and AIK back in 2017. It was recorded that the match was cancelled after the authorities were notified that there was an attempt of match-fixing.
In November 2019, the Court Of Appeal in Stockholm said “What preceded the meeting and what was said at the meeting must be seen in a context.
In the opinion of the court, Kenny Stamatopoulos has clearly been offered an improper benefit.

Etuhu who played for AIK Solna in the Swedish top-flight between 2015 and 2016, was banned for five years for trying to influence former teammate Kyriakos “Kenny” Stamatopoulos with money to fix a game between AIK and IFK Gothenburg in May 2017.
