FC Zurich of Switzerland fast-rising striker, Stephen Odey has disclosed that he has made the best use of space opportunities and corner kicks to rain goals with his club.
Following another brilliant performance and goal for the Zurich-based club last weekend, the former Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministry (MFM) FC of Lagos attacker said he has developed more in tactics since moving to Switzerland.
Heading into Thursday’s Europa League outing with his club away to Bayer Leverkusen of Germany, sports247.ng can report that Odey is optimistic of netting more goals on all fronts.
He admitted he would love to hit a mark of 16 goals this season, but says that would depend of many factors, tops of which is the quality of the opposition and efforts from his teammates.
Nonetheless, Odey says he has to continue working and ensure that he maintains his consistency, as he sets for himself a target of 16 goals to net before the season ends.
The 20-year-old Odey has hit nine goals already, which is five more than the total he got during his first season in Switzerland and says it is because he is getting more involved in various positions upfront.
Odey disclosed: “I will say the reason for the goals is that I have been initiating attacks when there is enough space.
“(I have done well) when I get the ball and also getting involved when we have corner kicks.
“I do have a target of at least 15 or 16 goals for the season I know it won’t be easy but I believe I’m up to the task.”
