The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) have announced the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2020 phase 1 and every other handball activities and programmes in the country have been postponed indefinitely because of the outbreak of coronovirus in the country.
The secretary general of HFN Alhaji Maigidasanma Mohammed who released a statement to that effect, said that decision to suspend all handball activities was from a directive from the Federal Ministry of Youths And Sports instructing all sports federation to stop all sports competitions.
“The Handball Federation of Nigeria is in receipt of a letter from the Ministry of youths and sports stopping federations from All National and International championships.
In view of the above our earlier scheduled Prudent Energy Handball Premier League is hereby postponed indefinitely until the issues around COVID-19 becomes clearly”.
The HFN also urged the handball family to remain safe and observe social distancing so as to prevent the spread of this virus.
The Federal Ministry Of Youths And Sports had announced the postponement of the National Sports Festival which was to hold in Edinburgh state because of the virus code named covid-19 and had directed sports federations to suspend every competitions/events for now
