IMO State Football Association (ISFA) suspends All Football Activities in the State

The IMO State Football Association in strict compliance with the directive from Nigeria Football Federation has suspended all football activities in the state for four weeks to check trend of events as they affect COVID-19 pandemic within Nigeria and all over the world.

The chairman Imo State Football Association Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam who announced the suspension followed spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria and arround the world. It will be recalled that the pro-active chairman of Imo State Football Association had earlier directed the organizing committee of Imo State Football Association to organize a health seminar for affiliate clubs in the state after the sudden death of Nasrawa FC player Martin’s Chinese, which took place at the FA board room on Wednesday, 18th March, 2020.

In his statement, he commended the President of Nigeria Football Federation Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick for taking a bold step which he said was geared towards health for all.

The directive he said cover football activities in the state including Local Government Football Activities, Friendly matches, veteran football and all football activities that attract crowd.

He finally directed all football zonal Co-ordinators, LGA football administrators and all members of Imo State Football family to adhere strictly with the directives of NFF, Ministry of Health and Nigeria Center for Decease Control such as use of sanitizer, frequent hand washing and social distancing.
