It has finally and fully landed on our shores in Nigeria in the past few days. The National Sports Festival became the first ‘casualty’ in a number of difficult decisions that the federal and some State governments need to take in response to the deadly Coronavirus that has crippled and humbled even the most advanced countries in the world.
Communities, States, Countries and even sub regions of the world have been locked down in an unprecedented ongoing èffort to understand the extremely contagious virus that has no known cure, no tested vaccine and has temporarily rendered the industrial war machines that the world once thought were the deadliest weapons of mass destruction in the world, impotent.
The entire world is now in a panic mode.
The virus must be slowed down and eventually defeated or it will destroy the present civilisations. Winning this titanic battle can only succeed with the collective effort of every individual on earth. The chain of effort and contribution to the battle must not be broken.
As difficult and frightening as the situation appears, there must be a way to fight it, or slow it down enough for an antidote to be found. NIgwria must now be one of the frontlines in Africa to wage the war and succeed.
