The league bloggers award has announced the nominees for the Nigerian Professional Football League player and coach of the month awards for the month of February.
The nominations announced via the twitter handle of the organizers saw four players and four coaches nominated for the February awards.
On the list for the player of the month includes Akwa United’s Ndifreke Effiong who is the joint highest goal scorer in the league at the moment. In the month under review, Ndifreke scored 4 goals including a brace against city rivals Dakkada FC as he helped his team climb to 4th position on the NPFL log.
Chukwuemeka Obioma of Heartland FC is also on the list. The striker came to limelight when he scored a hat trick in their 5-0 thrashing of Adamawa United and currently has 5 goals to his name for the season.
Plateau United shot stopper, Chinedu Anozie also makes the list after an impressive outing for the month of February. The goal keeper kept clean sheets all through the month in four outings and he also has the highest clean sheets in the league with a total of 10.
Enyimba forward, Stanley Dimgba is probably the most prolific striker in the month under review with 5 goals. The forward has been in impressive form on the continent and in the league as he proved it by scoring thrice against city rivals, Abia Warriors.
He also helped Enyimba to 5 league game unbeaten run before losing to Nasarawa United.
Meanwhile, Lobi Stars coach, Gbenga Ogunbote and Plateau United gaffer, Abdu Maikaba were nominated for the coach of the month award after both their teams went head to head at the top of the table.
The other two coach of the month nominees are Kennedy Boboye of Akwa United and Nasarawa United’s Abubakar Arikiyau/Bala Nikyu.
In January, Kwara United’s Alao Danbani won the player of the month while Gbenga Ogunbote won the coach of the month.
