Fosla Academy delegation was led by the proprietor, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdulahi who arrived the new VC’s office at 9:45am after.
The proprietor, told the VC, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed that their visit was to first and foremost congratulate him on his new but well deserved appointment and also to bring to his table the existing partnership between the academy and the University.
“We are here to say congratulations to you on your well deserved elevation and new position. You are no doubt suited for this and just as your predecessor did very well, I believe you will surpass him.
“We also came, My VC, to bring to your table the existing partnership between Fosla Academy and the University where graduates from our academy are sent here to continue their education at the university. We currently have three sets of students right now in the University since 2017 and that was why we felt the need to come today to congratulate you and also intimate you on the partnership,” the former NFF President said.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor commended the management of the academy for the unique job they are doing and lauded their initiative of promoting the importance of education in the life of an athlete or footballer.
“I am honoured to meet you. I have been briefed about your laudable project. Fosla Academy is a household name within the university community and the crop of players/students we have here from your academy are exceptional.
“Combining education and football career is an excellent innovation because most times our athletes or footballers push their sporting career without paying attention to their education. Many of our ex internationals have this situation but here today, you are changing the narrative. I commend you and your team
“I am not unaware of the existing partnership and I give you my word, we will continue to keep to it. We will improve in it where necessary and we will continue to do our best to promote what Fosla Academy is doing and together we will ensure an egalitarian society,” he said.
