Board of Trustees Chairman of the Athletics Supporters Club of Nigeria Prince Vincent Okumagba says the club is ready to give support to other sports as plans are in top gear to embrace other sports in Nigeria.
He made this known during a courtesy visit of the club and Champion of the Nigeria Women Basketball League Air Warriors with the Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare saying the Club will give massive support to Nigerian athletes during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
“Football did not make it to the Olympics, it is high time we supported other sports, that is why we are re-energizing ourselves to embrace other sports
We want to also go to the Olympics to support Team Nigeria in various sports”.
Meanwhile, National Chairman of the Athletics Supporters Club of Nigeria Mr.Olutoye Orishabiyi says the club wants to change the rhythm and give support to athletics and other sports as over the years there have been little or no support.
“We want to change the way it used to be, athletics and other sports has come to stay, as they are preparing for the Olympics, we can not fold our hands and watch rather than give them the maximum support”.
The meeting had in attendance the Minister for youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare Akin, B.O.T Chairman Prince Vincent Okumagba, National Chairman ASCN Mr.Olutoye Orishabiyi and Chairman Air Warriors Club Mr. Abdul-Mojeed Solademi.
