The League Bloggers Award of the NPFL voted Coach Gbenga Ogunbote as January, 2020 Coach of the Month in the ongoing 2019/2020 NPFL.
Coach Ogunbote emerged among three other nominees, Kennedy Boboye of Akwa United, Ibrahim Musa of Kano Pillars and Kabiru Dogo of Sunshine Stars.
In the month under review, Lobi Stars under Ogunbote gathered 11 points, Kennedy Boboye of Akwa United amass 12 points, Ibrahim Musa of Kano Pillar went unbeaten to accumulate 12 points while Kabiru Dogo stock pilled 11 points.
Coach Ogunbote ended up with an edge over and above the rest as his performance put Lobi Stars ahead of all contestants on the log as Lobi Stars had steadily climbed to the summit of the league ladder.
The award winning Coach in his reaction returned the honor to his players who got the on field result, the management for creating an enabling ground for him to function and his backroom staff for been proactive in the respective duties along the line. He summarized that the award is a victory for all and hope it will be a source of motivation to the entire team for greater results. That him and the entire team will not rest on their oars until the league is finally won.
Coach Ogunbote prayed for continuous understanding, cooperation and unity among the various departments of the club and ask God for more strength and capacity to keep on till the end.
An elated Executive Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Mr Mike Idoko in his reaction told Lobi Stars FC Media that the award will not only end up that of the month but hope for an over all best at the end of the year by the special grace of God Almighty.
