Blessed Stars Football Academy today were hosted to a friendly game against FC One Rocket. FC One Rocket who are currently playing the Amateur league is owned by Hon. Nse Essien, Chairman Akwa Ibom State House Committee on Youths, Sports and Security.
FC One Rocket was founded in 2018 unlike Blessed Stars Football Academy who have been well established in the game for over 15 years.
The game started very intense with Blessed Stars Football Academy pressuring the league side throughout its first half. Thirty five minutes into the game, Godswill Sunday made a perfect cross through ball to Blessed Stars attacker Anietie Bassey but the almost perfect goal was stopped by FC One Rocket goalkeeper.
During the second half, Charles Etim the Nigerian under-17 World Cup defender made several splendid safes for his team before FC One Rocket attacker Figo netted the first goal in the game to against Blessed Stars.
The coach of Blessed Stars Coach Ubong Vincent said “It’s not always about winning but discovering the unity within the players, we played a fantastic game and lost several opportunities that’s just it”.
The match ended 1-0 with Blessed Stars Football Academy conceding to defeat. Blessed Stars Football is set to have another away game with Nakaruba FC on Tuesday by 3pm at the Uruan Township Stadium.
