Sensei Samuel Adejebe has been newly appointed as the branch chief of Japan Karate-do Inoue-ha Shito-Ryu Keishin-kai in Nigeria.
The appointment was made at the Japan Karate-Do Inoue-Ha Shito-Ryu Keishin-Kai international seminar at Kesington Cape Town, South Africa.
The founder/chief instructor Samchi Karate Academy told newsmen that grassroot sports development is of high importance to him adding that he will everything possible to get youths to participate in sport Karate in international competitions.
Adejebe said the seminar is an eye opener to the real knowledge of Karate and the information gathered from this seminar will greatly help develop sport karate in Nigeria.
He said, “I am excited to be appointed branch chief of Japan Karate-do Inoue-ha Shito-Ryu Keishin-kai in Nigeria and it is a great pleasure to announce that Nigeria has been officially approved as a member of the JAPAN KARATE-DO INOUE-HA SHITO-RYU KEISHIN-KAI.
“The seminar was facilitated by the head of Inoue-Ha Africa from Australia in person of Kyoshi Nikki Pillay. The Japan Karate-Do Inoue-Ha Shito-Ryu keishin-kai karate-do is registered and authorized by the foundation of all Japan Karate-do Federation.
He further said, “The organization was founded by late Soke Yoshimi Inoue who served as the Japan national team coach for many years and the organization is presently headed by Soke and president Masahiro Okamura.
“Getting Nigeria affiliated to this organization is a long time dream that has come to pass and this will facilitate the development of Shito-ryu Karate in Nigeria and also be a good platform for all Karate practitioners in Nigeria especially those who practice shito-ryu style of karate to participate in the African Shito-ryu Karate competition and world Shito-Ryu Karate competition later this year”.
“One of my goals is to teach, train, transform and nurture young talented athletes in Nigeria. The organization is open to everyone who wants to be a part of it and his training centers are also open to all.
“Grassroot sports development is of high importance to me and I will do all I can to get youths to participate in sport Karate in international competitions.
“The seminar is an eye opener to the real knowledge of Karate and the information gathered from this seminar will greatly help develop sport karate in Nigeria and I am ready to share the knowledge obtained from this international conference/seminar with the upcoming athletes in Nigeria”, he added
