UK-based Pilot Wins Julius Berger Golf Tournament

A Nigerian pilot based in United Kingdom, Tony Yusuf-Adam has won this year’s Julius Berger Invitational Golf Tournament in Abuja.

 

Yusuf-Adam took top spot in the 15th edition of the competition, which held last Saturday at IBB International Golf & Country Club, after which he said he was excited to pull off the feat.

Yusuf-Adam, who carded 77 gross and 42 stable-ford points, also praised the organisers for putting together a smooth and hitch-free event, which he described as the best he has experienced in all his years playing golf.

He also praised Julius Berger Nigeria Plc for sponsoring the tournament, but confessed that he just set out to enjoy the competition’s leisure, without any thought about his chances of emerging the overall winner.

Yusuf-Adam was later presented with the winner’s trophy at the post-tournament’s dinner by the chairman of Julius Berger, Mutiu Sunmonu.

Other prizes won at the tournament included the Longest Drive, Men; on hole 10; won by Okechukwu Ogali, who drove the distance of 256 metres, while Amina Wilfred, measured 188 metres from the tee to claim the women’s version.

The Nearest to the Pin prize for men was won by V.O Adedipe, while Judith Wagner, won the women category.
