Nigeria Sports Award: Minister promises bigger expectations

The Nigeria Sports award welcomed the sports minister to her annual edition after so many individual performances,team outings as well as an eventful campaign in Nigeria sports. The prestigious award ceremony seeks to recognize and celebrate Journalists, Individual efforts, coaches from all aspect of participation.

“The over 35 million votes received is a prove that we can get it right in this country as people are ready to buy into a well developed sport. The ministry promised to give an enabling system for athletes to thrive.”

Discovery of the year- Folashade Lawal

Racket Sports Person of the year – Anuoluwapo Opeyori

Footballer of the year – Odion Jude Ighalo represented by Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi

Team Sports Person of the year – Farouk Yusuf

Athletics Star of the year- Ese Brume

Wrestler of the year- Odunayo Adekuruoye, Godwin Enakhena represented her.

According to Godwin ” Odunayo is in USA popularly known as United State of America preparing for the Tokyo Olympics… She has promised all Nigerians to win Gold”

Basketball player of the year – Evelyn Akathor, represented by her cousin

Individual Sports Person of the year- Emmanuel Appah

D’Tigress wins the team of the year

Christopher Nwadei (Weightlifting) wins coach of the year.

Sport Woman of the year- ESE Brume

Sports Man of the year – Opeyori Anuoluwapo
