President of The Handball Federation of Nigeria Mr. Samuel Ocheho has praised the International Handball Federation (IHF) for appointing Mr. Yerime Sylla as travellers coach for Nigeria.
The IHF nominated Sylla in their travellers coaching project to help promote the sport of handball in the country and to prepare the senior men national handball team for the Africa Men Senior Handball Nations Cup will hold in Tunisia next January.
He is also expected to have a seminar with Nigeria coaches amongst other duties and the Sam Ocheho believes this is promise kept by the HFN board at the beginning of the administration.
For Ocheho, the essence of this rare opportunity is to help improve the handballing skills of the Nigerian players and to enhance the technical abilities of the coaches as well.
He praised the IHF for the decision to send Mr. Sylla who is known to be one of the best tactician of handball in the world and hope that Nigeria will largely benefit from him during his stay.
Fifty year old Yerime Sylla, a Franco-Senegalese was born on April 28, 1969 in Villemomble and played at some point for Senegal
He has had coaching stint with Kuwait and the Belgium national handball teams as well lots of handball clubs in France and other countries.
The IHF instructor is expected to be with Nigeria for the first phase of the coaching project from January 3 – 27th 2020.
