Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Henry Onyekuru may not see his personal target of returning to action this weekend come to a reality, as his club insist the earliest date for him to make a comeback is November 12.
In what could be a repeat of the spat Onyekuru had with doctors at his former club, RSC Anderlecht of Belgium, who insisted he was not fit enough to make Nigeria’s World Cup squad, sports247.ng observes that the youngster is in another battle with medical experts.
This time out, Onyekuru on Thursday declared himself fit from a recent hamstring injury and wanted to play last weekend but, after he was denied that opportunity, he turned his focus on the upcoming Istanbul derby against Fernebahce.
However, even that fixture looks unlikely for him, as Gala’s doctors say the 21-year-forward, who was injured while featuring for Nigeria against Libya in Sfax earlier this month, will have to wait till next weekend.
This comes amidst reports that the former KAS Eupen and Anderlecht of Belgium lad, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Everton of England, has caught the eye of Paris-Germaine and Olympique Marseille of France as well as Bayern Munich of Germany.
Onyekuru, has a contract with Everton till the summer of 2022, has two goals in eight matches for Galatasaray, but his fiery start to the season has been scuttled once again by yet another injury.
