The co-owner and coach of Lagos Rebels Club, Ashley Louis has stated a deep feeling of delight with their ability to come tops of Nigeria’s version of American National Football League (NFL).
Following her side’s victory over Panthers in the second edition of the innovative Shitsuke Flag Football League, Louis said he was highly excited and delighted with the achievement.
Lagos Rebels emerged winners after beating Panthers 42-24 in the final on Sunday at Leisure Sports Park in Lekki, Lagos.
Panthers dominated the first half of the encounter but found themselves slumping to a second half defeat to the Rebels.
Louis added that it was amazing top emerge tops in a league that started with six teams in two divisions, Eko South and Eko North.
She added that his side never gave up hope when they were down at half time of the ultimate match of the league, which also featured Gidirons, Trogons, Stingrays and Eko Vipers.
“It is a wonderful feeling to win the league in our first season of participating. It gives us a lot of satisfaction seeing that the hard work we put in yielded this result.
“We were behind at half time but we rallied ourselves and gave the game a good fight and the rest is history,” Louis concluded.
