Nigeria’s under-20 handball national team coach, Fidelis Obi has declared that the squad will have international friendly matches in France and Germany ahead of their outing at the upcoming global competition.
Obi, though, explained further in an interview with sports247.ng that the proposed matches will be against lower division clubs, as all other teams are busier and hard to get.
He stated further that, as the World U-20 Handball Championship draws closer in January, they will also try and get matches against other countries that have qualified for the competition.
Obi declared: “We already have plans to play against lower division clubs in France and Germany, but we can also play against teams that have qualified for the championship.
“This is because the rules guiding the championship allow for teams try themselves out before the competition begins in full.
“This will help those of us in the coaching crew to improve the team technically, as the players would be able to adapt to our expectations.”
