Vice President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Babs Ogunade has hinted that the fast approaching Nigeria Women Premier League will commence on the 28th of October.
According to him, the competition will come with a lot of intensity which will be good enough to get eventual continental representatives prepared to challenge at the top level.
“The Nigeria Women Premier League competition will kickoff on 28th October 2018. The participants are ready to showcase the skills they have in order to thrill fans of the Basketball game. The NBBF is excited that a tournament of such magnitude will finally get underway,” the administrator said to Sports247.ng.
“All the logistics have been put in place for a successful organization of the competition which will be keenly contested by teams in the elite division.”
“The outstanding teams should be worthy representatives of Nigeria at the continental level.”
“We have also decided to ensure that the format for the Premier League is an abridged form.”
Ogunade added that having the league in an abridged format will not rob teams of the challenge and intensity needed to have gone through before going for such continental outing.
