President of the Confederation of African Volleyball, Dr. Amr El-Wani has encouraged the Nigeria Volleyball Federation to work hard and put up a bid to host the World Volleyball Championship as soon as possible.
He believes that Nigeria have the touch to host the biggest showpiece in Volleyball.
Nigeria recently hosted the U21 Africa Men’s Volleyball Championship in Abuja, a tournament which pundits described as successful.
“The U21 Africa Men’s Volleyball Championship is an attestation to the fact that Nigeria have what it takes to host bigger events in future,” Amr El-Wani said to Sports247.ng.
“Nigeria have the financial muscle and infrastructure to host the World Volleyball Championship. It’s an achievable task for this country. Nigeria can host the competition for sure.”
“The Volleyball Federation in Nigeria should map out strategies to ensure that this becomes a reality. A bid from Nigeria won’t be struck out by the Volleyball governing body.”
“I will definitely support Nigeria in its bid to host the World Championship,” he confirmed.
