Chairman of Kastina United Prince Abdulsamad Badamasi has urged fans of the club and lovers of football in Nigeria to expect a rebranded “Changi Boys” when the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) gets underway.
The Changi Boys crashed out of the first round of the Ahlan Cup 2019 after bowing 2-0 to Nasarawa United in a Group A game. They finished third with four points from three games.
Speaking to Media in Kano, Badamasi said that he hopes to restructure and bring back the glory days of the club again.
“We have made some changes to the team and brought in new personnel. Insha Allahu we hope to produce the best NPFL club in Nigeria.
“Football lovers and followers of the game should expect a rebranded Katsina United next season. It’s a new dawn for this great club.
Prince Badamusi went on to praise organisers of Alhan Pre Season Tournament for setting up the best and most followed competition in Nigeria.
He also expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance despite being knocked out of the tournament.
“I’m very much satisfied with Alhan Pre season tournament, it’s well organised and it has massive followership. I’m impressed with my team, they played well but were unlucky.
“This tournament has helped us to see the lapses and we hope to go back to work before the league gets underway.
