The director youth football development of Remo stars sports club Daniel Ogunmodede, while speaking in an interview from his base with our reporter commended the organiser of Ogunjobi gold cup high with the level of organisation , he also used the opportunity to thank the Ilorin fans for their supports toward his team.
Coach Daniel lead the team to Ilorin with 80% of the players from the the club U17 cadre .
Speaking further coach Daniel was excited for the opportunity given the boys to showcase their talents in such a big tournament that has club like Kwara United , sunshine Stars Niger tornadoes to mentioned but a few.
The youth director also expressed joy over the boys developmental program as laid down by the club management.
When asked about Adedayo Olamilekan the new kid on the block , he said Dayo “Ebola” as he’s fondly called by his team mates is nothing close to the great okocha , but Dayo is skillful on the ball and not afraid to take on anyone once he has the ball with him .
Coach Daniel has this to say about Dayo ” my eyes has being on him from the U13 squad , going through the NFF/La Liga tournament , he is a box to box player but still has a lot to learn with more exposure, hardwork and concentration on his game”
The coach was quick to add that the floodlight game was a good match test for most of the boys because it was the first time most of them will play under such condition in their career .
The team is current in camp making corrections to few errors noted in Ilorin and preparing for the tournament coming up at Asana in Delta state .
Remo stars sports club won two games, drew one and lose two during the Ogunjobi gold cup 2019 edition.
