As five time F.A/AITEO Federation Cup champions, Rangers International push for a sixth trophy in the finals of the 2018 annual championship inside the main bowl of Stephen Keshi Stadium, a U.S based philanthropist and Grand Patron of Ex-Rangers International Footballers Association, Chief Benson Ejindu has promised a huge cash reward to the team if they emerge as champions.
Chief Ejindu who made this promise through his very close confident and former manager of defunct Nitel Vasco Dagama F.C of Enugu, Diewait Ikpechukwu, Thursday, said that he was very glad that the ‘Flying Antelopes’ are in their first F.A cup final in over a decade and promised to motivate the players, coaches, management team and all that contributed to the success a few days after the triumph.
“I have never doubted the strength, belief and unity that exists in the club. I am really glad with their achievement thus far and urge them to go a step further and win the trophy for us all as we have waited long enough to drink with the cup again. I shall surprise them with a great package bigger than what was witnessed two years ago when they won the league diadem,” stated the U.S based business mogul.
Chief Ejindu further said, “I have been following their progress since the national championship commenced and strongly believe that Kano Pillars can’t stop the coal City boys who are representing a great race, culture and religion. As soon as the game ends with the trophy heading to Enugu, they will hear from me and my friends who are wishing the lads luck in the game.”
It would be recalled that the Anambra state born philanthropist hosted the Enugu side to a grand dinner in 2016 after breaking a 32-year Cup jinx and parted with more than two million naira to the players after that league triumph while also pushing to establish a Rangers Hall of Fame to cater for the needs of former players of the club.
