Oyedeji Calls For Peace In Nigerian Basketball

Nigerian basketball senior men’s national team, D’Tigers’ former captain, Olumide Oyedeji has called for peace in the running of the sport in the country, as he believes many gains have been lost due to ongoing infighting in the federation.

Oyedeji, who is a member of the board of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) led by Ahmed Musa-Kida and recognized by the global body, FIBA, told sports247.ng that people outside the sanctioned authority should come together and join them in taking the game higher.

The former power forward called out on all stakeholders in the country to join forces with the NBBF, so they can put the nation’s basketball house back in order.

Oyedeji said its a shame on him as an ambassador that he cannot resolve issues on the field, or appear to be doing well with his personal efforts, initiatives and programmes when his own house is on fire.

He told sports247.ng: “It’s time for us to come back together. Basketball is suffering in our country.

“All stakeholders need to come back together and put the house in back order. They should do this for Nigeria, if they truly love the game.”
