Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi will join Kanu Nwakwo has the only Nigerians who has featured for Arsenal in the Europa league final if he gets play against Chelsea in Baku.
The North London giants zoomed to the Europa League final after a 4-2 win at Mestalla to seal an emphatic 7-3 aggregate victory on Thursday.
While the Super Eagles forward was on the bench for the entire duration, his teammates Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazzette combined to send the Unai Emery’s men into the final.
Iwobi is the second Nigerian to qualify the Gunners for the Europe second tier elite final , he joined Nigeria legend Kanu Nwankwo who was in the team that got the Gunners to the 2000 final but lost to Galatasary on penalties.
Iwobi will be aiming to go further and win the final for Arsenal which will qualify them for a place in next season’s champions league.
