After Nigeria’s impressive outing at this year’s FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Tenerife, Spain, Nigeria’s national team, D’Tigress assistant coach, Peter Ahmedu said it is time to spot new talents for the country.
Ahmedu told sports247.ng that the next mission on his mind is to scout for talented players at home and abroad.
He added that even players of Nigerian origin that are born abroad will be under the spotlight for invitations, once they are willing to suit up for the country.
Ahmedu told Sports247.ng: “We are looking at a means whereby new players will spotted for the national teams, both male and female.
“The scouting mission already has the blessing of the NBBF leadership, as we are looking at how we can convince even those who are based in foreign countries or born abroad to play for their country.
“This will help us start early preparation ahead of the Olympics in 2020 as well as other tournaments.”
