Mohamed Sameh is considered a bright future prospect for Egyptian table tennis.
Sameh announced himself to the continent when he made the African Team to the 2016 World Cadet Challenge in China.
However, Sameh worked his way back into reckoning and was deservedly named into the Egyptian team to the 2019 African Junior and Cadet Championships currently on in Accra, Ghana.
Sameh describes Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri as one of his idols whom he adores alongside China’s Ma Long but his soft-spot for the African champion was felt in his
“I believe I can become the best in table tennis in Egypt because of the kind of support I have been getting from my family. My sister who is also a member of the national junior team has been very supportive.
For me, table tennis is life as I dream and eat the game. I want to be like my idol – China’s Ma Long.
He is such a talented player whose calmness on table tennis has attracted a lot of followers across the world.
Apart from Ma Long, I love Aruna Quadri of Nigeria because of his footwork and forehand.
He is such a great ambassador of Africa and I hope I can achieve what he has been able to achieve as an African and we all look up to him and hope to take a cue from him,” Sameh said.
