Super Eagles central defender William Troost-Ekong returned to action for Udinese who defeated Empoli 3-2 in their Serie A clash on Sunday at the Dacia Arena.
Troost-Ekong who missed Udinese‘s 1-1 away draw against AC Milan on Tuesday due to a minor injury marked his return to full fitness with a win over fellow strugglers.
Italian striker Francesco Caputo put Empoli ahead in the 11th minutes , but the lead only last for three minutes as Rodrigo De Paul restored parity for Udinese.
Empoli took the lead again in the 24th minutes, it was Rade Krunić , Bosnia international who beat Udinese defense to slot home a low drive.
Rodrigo De Paul hit back for Udinese for the second time in the game , this time, it was from the penalty spot with four minutes into the end of the highly entertaining first half.
The comeback was finally completed on the stroke of half-time time with Rolando Mandragora scoring the third and the winner for Udinese .
Meanwhile Ekong has now featured in 29 Serie A games for Udinese this season, having joined in the summer.
